Frédéric Bazille

French 🇫🇷 1841 -1870

Frédéric Bazille was an Impressionist painter who would often work en plein air, or outdoors. He was good friends with fellow Impressionists Monet, Manet, and Alfred Sisley.


Bazille was originally studying to become a doctor, but fell in love with Impressionism. He began painting full time after failing his medical exam.
