Frederic Remington was an illustrator and painter best known for his paintings of the Old American West. His work specifically focuses on the West of the late 1800s and often depicts cowboys, Native Americans, and the beauty of the natural landscape. He also painted military scenes of the West.
Remington was also a war correspondent and journalist, and had a slight working relationship with future president Theodore Roosevelt.
