Geraldine Carton is a Dublin-based contemporary artist specialising in expressive portraiture and figurative paintings in oils and acrylics. With a background in social work and socio-environmental activism, Geraldine's interest lies specifically in the human condition and individual experience. From toddlers having meltdowns, to women embracing their folding form or fleeting moments of contentment in nature; capturing moments of vulnerability, expression, personality and connection is at the heart of each piece of work she creates. Currently, Geraldine is working on a body of work that casts an eye towards the female experience, and champions a more realistic view of women as imperfect, glorious, multi-faceted beings.
