Jan I. Griffier the Elder

Jan Griffier the Elder, born in Amsterdam but active in England, was a painter during the Dutch Golden Age. He was also a printmaker and etcher. He worked for two decades in England for the painter Jan Looten.

Jan I. Griffier's sons, Robert Griffier and Jan Griffier the Younger, also became landscape painters and carried on his legacy.
