Luigi Mayer

Luigi Mayer was a late 18th-century painter who is most well known for his depictions of the Ottoman Empire. Mayer traveled all throughout the Ottoman Empire for many decades, and his sketches and paintings provided Europe with insight into the life and culture of the Middle East.
