Odilon Redon

French 🇫🇷 1840 - 1916

Odilon Redon was a French painter and printmaker whose works are considered early precursors to Dadaism and Surrealism. He worked primarily in charcoal and lithography, and then began working almost exclusively in pastels and oils later in his career. His paintings are often described as ‘dreamlike’ and show the influence of Japanese art.
