Italian 🇮🇹 1563 - 1639
Orazio Gentileschi was an Italian painter who was a court painter for several rulers in Italy, England, and France. He began his career painting in the Mannerist style, but pivoted to the more natural style pioneered by Caravaggio. Many of his works feature classic religious and mythological motifs.
Orazio was the father of accomplished artist Artemisia Gentileschi.
