Takahashi Hiroaki

Japanese 🇯🇵 1871 - 1945

Takahashi Hiroaki was a Japanese artist who primarily made woodblock prints. He was part of the shin-hanga movement in Japan. His uncle gave him the artist name of Shōtei, and he added the name of Hiroaki later on.

There is an urban legend that Hiroaki died in the Hiroshima atomic bombing. This is not true. He actually passed away from pneumonia.
