Tsukioka Yoshitoshi was a Japanese printmaker who is considered to be the last master of woodblock printing in the ukiyo-e genre. His impressive career spanned the Edo period and after the Meiji Restoration, which marked the beginnings of modern Japan. Yoshitoshi was a master of his craft, and today many consider him to be one of the greatest Japanese artists in history.
