Utagawa Kuniyoshi was a Japanese printmaker who was a master of the ukiyo-e genre of woodblock prints. His prints depict a variety of subjects, from beautiful women to battle scenes. His work deftly incorporated elements of Western landscape and caricature traditions.
Utagawa Kuniyoshi taught the great woodblock print master Yoshitoshi.
